General InformationAbsHoursoursLessons begin at 9.00am and children are dismissed at 3.00pm. The bell for morning lines rings at 8.55am. Recess - 11.00am. Lunch is from 12.50 to 1.45pm. This is required by law and is for the safety and protection of your child. A note should be sent to the Class Teacher on the day a child returns from being absent. Students arriving at school late are required to attend, accompanied by an adult, the office for a “late note”. Late arrival at School is recorded as a partial absence. A student will only be permitted to leave school during hours when parents/caregivers make a written request. Parents or caregivers who have not provided the teacher with a note are requested to attend the office where an “early leaving note” will be completed. This is given to the class teacher. Bus PassStudents in K-Yr2 are entitled to free transport (bus/rail) to and from school regardless of home address. Students in Yr 3 - Yr 6 are entitled to free transport if they live more than 2.3km from the school by the most direct route. Applications for bus/train passes are available from the office. CounselorMr Brian Thomas attends the school on Mondays and Wednesdays. He is available to talk to you about any concerns that you may have regarding your child’s schoolwork or behaviour. Emergency Contact mergency ContactIt is most important that the school is notified of change of address and/or telephone numbers or emergency contact details. Please notify changes immediately to the office either in writing or by ‘phone. First Aid Minor superficial injuries will be treated at school. Trained personnel with appropriate certification administer basic First Aid. The Principal will be informed of any serious accident or illness and a staff member will contact parents if possible so further treatment can be arranged if necessary. In cases of emergency students will be treated by a doctor, ambulance service or hospital, unless parents have given other instructions. (The school has taken ambulance cover for the year). Please inform us if there has been a change in your place of contact as soon as possible. This includes a change of address, work and an emergency contact number for when the parent is unavailable. Children should not be sent to school if they are unwell as there are no facilities to cater for sick children at school. Special Needs Special NeedsIf your child has special needs please let the class teacher or the office know as soon as possible. If a child must take medication at school a written note of authorisation and a special medical form must be completed. All medication is to be handed in at the office with the exception of asthma puffers.
